HOMEMADE SOUP FOR MY SOUL.

for a day that started off with getting sick on an empty stomach (worse than a full stomach in my opinion) it ended like this picture. a really perfect way to end the day and fill my stomach with warm, homemade goodness. i still feel very nauseated, but it doesn't matter. my honey is home for three nights in a row and he's currently entertaining our daughter with blocks and dancing.

my very good friend, kristin, let me borrow the latest shauna niequist book, so i've been busy diving into another good read. and i was inspired by an instagram picture to make homemade soup. and i made it. and made it well. it's crazy how "put-together" i feel when i actually accomplish the task of getting dinner on the table- at least in this stage of my life. carrying #2.

this weekend we get to celebrate another good friend, christine, and her new baby girl who will make her appearance on my birthday (haha- not really, but that would be fun! but in february for sure). thanksgiving is right around the corner and our second baby appointment. then we celebrate the friends i've had for over 7 years at our annual secret santa brunch. and finally, we will pack up our summer clothes and head to bangkok, thailand to visit my family for christmas and new years.

'tis the season for family, celebrations, friends, and good food. bring it on. and here's to morning sickness being over sooner rather than later.
