Tonight's Gonna Be a Good Night

Last night was pretty eventful. The Burgh Babes lost yet another game, but we played like a team. I was very proud of myself. I stole the ball, kept on running, took some silly shots, and finally I scored a basket!!! That was my second basket in 3 years!
Then I was going to watch Aaron's game, because he so faithfully comes to watch mine. He's wicked fast and has a great shot. His team's not very good, they're the Burgh Boys if you will. So last night he was playing his heart out... got nailed in the chin by an elbow... and bit through his tongue. Needless to say, we then ventured out to the ER at Swedish Covenant Hospital. It's quite a place at 11pm. I saw a few drunks stumble in, had to help Aaron with his insurance, talk for him because he couldn't, call his mom to make sure she knew what was up, and then Aaron asked me if I could go with him into the ER. Of course I did. I love that stuff. I watched the doctor numb his tongue and stitch it up, 3 stitches. It was great! I won't post any pictures, I have some if anyone's interested. He was quite a trooper.
Then we had to drive all around Chicago to find a 24-hr Walgreens... there are a lot of Walgreens out there... not many 24-hr ones. Then he wanted a strawberry milkshake from McDonalds. Fun fact... every McDonalds locks their ice cream machine at night. I know this because I went to three. So he didn't get a milkshake.
We got back to North Park around 2am. He's getting better, hopped up on drugs, and talking with a cute lisp.
What a Monday.

  1. that was just gross. I didn't look at his tongue, but I watched Rob and Ross as they looked at it and the looks on their faces said it all. I'm glad he won't be a snake man forever.

  2. I am very interested in seeing those pics. Did I ever tell you I bit through my tongue and got 9 stiches in it!! It will be quite a story for Aaron to tell when it doesn't hurt so much.
